Russian goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin has been sentenced to 30 days in jail in connection with an Arizona drink-driving conviction.
The four-time all-star, who now plays for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, received the sentence Tuesday in an Arizona court. He also was fined 5,100 dollars and must take part in an alcohol-treatment programme.
The 37-year-old was pulled over in his Ferrari six months ago for speeding.
Khabibulin, who signed a four-year, 15 million dollar deal with Edmonton last year, is appealing the sentence.
