Pittsburgh Penguins forward Maxime Talbot underwent shoulder surgery and the recovery is expected to be four to five months, the National Hockey League club announced on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old scored both goals in the Penguins' 2-1 win in game seven of last month's Stanley Cup finals series win over Detroit.
"Max has played with this problem for quite a while and we all agreed it was best for him to have the surgery at this time," Penguins general manager Ray Shero said.
In 261 career games, Talbot has 42 goals and 38 assists. He has also appeared in 46 playoff games, scoring 11 goals and 23 points.
