Injury on bench ousts Leclaire for a month

It's not often that a player suffers an injury that sidelines him for a month while sitting on the bench but that's just what happened to Ottawa Senators goaltender Pascal Leclaire.
The 27-year-old Canadian suffered a broken right cheekbone when a puck bounced off the glass and struck him in the face while he was seated on the team bench Tuesday during Ottawa's 4-3 over-time victory over Washington.
Leclaire is the Senators starting netminder most nights but was on the bench in favor of Brian Elliott after suffering a lower-body injury on Saturday in a victory over Buffalo.
Senators center Mike Fisher tried to send the puck into the attacking zone but the puck was deflected by a stick and into the Ottawa seating area, where it hit protective glass and then Leclaire's face, typically protected by a mask when he is on the ice.
