Dark days in NHL for Devils against Lightning

The New Jersey Devils' National Hockey League game against the Tampa Bay Lightning was suspended in the second period because of a lighting problem.

The players and fans waited one hour, 52 minutes before the National Hockey League officially suspended the 2009-10 regular season game.

Tampa led 3-0 halfway through the middle period when a band of lights dimmed putting the players in the dark.

The game will resume but the league could not immediately say when.

New Jersey general manager Lou Lamoriello said a broken circuit breaker at three-year-old Prudential Center arena caused the problem.
